Lube oil and waxes

Overview

Lube oil, wax and white oil process technologies are part of thyssenkrupp Uhde’s core refining technologies portfolio. Feedstocks are low-value vacuum gas oil (VGO), residues and unconverted oil (UCO) from hydrocracker bottoms (HCB). Our proprietary technologies have been used for decades in the production of:

  • motor oil grades to international quality standards

  • industrial oils

  • transformer oils

  • treated distillate aromatic extract (TDAE) for rubber production

  • technical and pharmaceutical white oils

  • hard waxes, including food-grade quality.

Our portfolio includes the following processes:

  • hydrowax vacuum distillation for processing UCO/HCB to group II lube oils

  • solvent extraction and re-extraction

  • propane deasphalting

  • solvent dewaxing

  • wax deoiling

  • lube oil hydrofinishing

  • wax/white oil hydrogenation.
